1.93ct Fire Opal

True to its name, fire opal stones are borne from fire. These Mexican opals are said to form in the depths of ancient volcanoes.

Fire opal is a transparent to translucent opal, with warm body colours of yellow to orange to red. Although it does not usually show any play of colour, occasionally a stone will exhibit bright green flashes.

The fire opal gemstone is thought to have been used in Aztec culture as far back as 850 A.D. Fire opal stones were found in Aztec burial sites, often worn as jewellery or incorporated into artworks and figurines.
